1.Tent:
The Tent is the most important piece of equipment for your next trip. Check all tents for basic components such as poles, a canopy, ect.

2.Backpack:
If you’re wanting to hike or simple visit spots during your trip, a high quality backpack will be key. Make sure that the frame of the backpack is comfortable for you and is able to hold weight and remain flexible. Panels in the back of backpacks are also great to look for, as it will provide comfort for a sweaty back.

Are you ready to head into the great outdoors? Before you do, you might want to make sure you have the right gear. Without it, your camping trip won’t be half as fun.

Make a list of all the gear you will need. Even if you have camping experience, a list will still help because it will get you to focus.

Your camping gear essentials are as follows:

1. Tent

2. Sleeping bags

3. Backpacks

4. Cooking gear

The truth is, you don’t even need cooking gear if you are only going overnight. Trail mix and breakfast bars will be fine and will enable you to forget about having to start a fire. This is a good idea if you are new to camping and want to see if you will like it.

Purchasing used camping gear is a great way to save money. You can pick up used tents and backpacks either online or in your local paper’s classified section. As far as sleeping bags go, some people only want one that no one else has ever slept in. If this is you, don’t fret. You can actually purchase a decent sleeping bag at the big department stores. It won’t be fancy, but it won’t put you out for a lot of money, either.

When shopping for a camping trip there are many things you will be needing to rough it outdoors. One of which is the most important, a tent. Tents come in all different sizes depending on how many people will be accompanying you. I would rate the 2 rooms tents as a perfect ten, due to the space and quality. Another important thing you will be needing is sleeping bags to keep you warm. They now have all different kinds of sleeping bags on the market but the best ones to choose when going camping in the cold weather are the mummies. Those rank a 10 on our list unless you are going somewhere with a warm climate them you will need to decide on a different type. The next item on our list is lighters or matches. You can purchase lighters in big packs of ten or go with the old school waterproof matches. If there is a chance your fire supply might get wet, then i would go with the waterproof matches. Sometimes the matches can be hard to light so i would have to rate them about a 7. Well there are a few imporant things to get you started on you camping list, so go ahead and start shopping!

For many today, the idea of camping is to pull the RV into a designated campground, plug in the electric, attach the water and hook up the sewer. Once everything is all buttoned up, the hearty individuals proclaim, “We’re camping now.” Not!

Real camping, whether a once a year family outing or hunters, fishermen or naturalists who may spend weeks out in the bush, demands a certain amount of self sufficiency and a few outdoor skills. Camping never has to mean discomfort and a proper camp can pretty much have all the amenities of home.

The cornerstone of any camp is shelter and tents come in many shapes and sizes. For the backpacking camper, miniature tents for one person will suffice while families or hunting parties may opt for large cabin tents that are often separated into several rooms. Unless you’re a purist who wishes to cook over the campfire, a good cook stove is a must and makes life much easier. Lots of lanterns in a camp are a plus. Have several cheap kerosene burning ones for the outside, a good propane lantern in the tent and in cold weather, a propane heater will keep a tent toasty warm.
